If you’ve been to New Orleans you’ll know all about Lake Pontchartrain. Situated in the Mississippi Estuary, the Lake is a mixture of freshwater wetlands and the famous old city of New Orleans sits on its South Shore. This swim starts at the North end of the lake, You’ll start your swim in Mandeville and follow a similar line to the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway, the largest continuous bridge over water in the world, finishing on Lake Shore drive close to the Mardi Gras Fountain, a total distance of 23 miles (36km).
